The difference between walnuts and pecans

For walnuts, I believe we all know very well that they are nutritious and are one of the nuts we eat on a daily basis. 1.The difference in shape

In terms of appearance, the shell of walnuts is nearly round and very thick and hard, covered with veins, while the pecans are oval in shape, with a very thin and brittle shell that can be easily opened by hand.

2.The kernels are different

Walnut kernels are light golden brown or light yellow in colour, shaped to look like a human brain and are easier to grind. The pecan kernels, on the other hand, are dark brown in colour and have a waxy surface. The walnut kernels are slightly sweeter than the pecan kernels.

3. Difference of origin

Usually the origin of walnuts is mainly distributed in Central Asia, South Asia, West Asia and Europe, China's Gansu, Xinjiang, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Shanxi and other places are planted with walnuts; while the pecan is the fruit of the American pecan, abundant in North America, Australia and other countries.

4. Different nutrition

Pecan and walnuts both nuts are rich in sodium, iron, zinc, manganese and other mineral elements and trace elements, the protein content of walnuts is almost twice that of pecans, making it one of the highest protein content of nuts. However, comparatively speaking, the pecan has more minerals and trace elements than the walnut, which, together with its natural wild nature, gives it an advantage over the walnut in terms of nutritional content.
